Online Safety
At school, we are committed to teaching the children how to keep themselves safe online. Key messages about online safety run through our PSHE lessons, our computing lessons and our assemblies.
As part of our school’s curriculum, we offer pupils supervised access to the internet and teach them how to safely navigate the digital world, using technology responsibly and appropriately. We are aware of the great educational advantages that internet access brings but also the dangers of inappropriate use. Our school’s internet service is provided through NYC and is fully filtered and monitored to minimise the risk of any unsuitable content being displayed. Pupils will be taught about the importance of internet safety through their lessons, in assemblies and through other educational opportunities. Staff will regularly remind pupils of the need to follow the school rules when using technology.
It is recommended that children who use the internet at home, follow similar rules for staying safe online. If you have any concerns regarding online safety, please discuss them with a member of staff.
In an ever changing landscape, we recognise just how hard it is for families to keep up to date with the latest news and so we are sharing a monthly online safety newsletter with families to help and guide them. Please click on the links below to read the newsletters.

PARENTAL CONTROLS
Click on the link below to take you to a comprehensive guide that covers all aspects of parental controls.
This guide will help you set up parental controls and adjust privacy settings to provide your child with a safer online environment.
Parental controls can help to protect your child from seeing something that they shouldn’t — although it is important to emphasise that no system is effective all of the time, so it is important to engage with your child and talk to them about
their online life regularly.
smartphone free childhood
Smartphone Free Childhood is a parent led movement whose mission is to protect children from the dangers of using smartphones too young.
The premise behind this movement is that all parents/carers of a class all
agree not to give their children
smartphones (therefore the level of
peer pressure is reduced) for a set time or until a specific age. Are you ready to join? Find out more here:
