School Lunches

Our school follows a healthy eating policy and lunches are cooked freshly each day in our school kitchen.  The meals are prepared using:

  • fresh meat and poultry sourced from the region;
  • fruit and vegetables sourced regionally where possible using local suppliers;
  • products free from additives associated with health problems in young children;
  • fats free from hydrogenated oils; with
  • menus that are nutritionally balanced.

Main meals are served with a choice of fresh vegetables or salad with potatoes or bread.  There is also the choice of jacket potatoes served with salad and sandwiches served with salad or jacket potatoes.

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are able to receive a free school lunch.

For pupils in Years 3 to 6, lunches cost £2.95 per day.

Nursery meals cost £1.90 per day.  Nursery children who stay in school beyond 12.30pm are charged an additional £1.50 per day for lunchtime supervision.

Should you prefer, you may send your child with a healthy packed lunch which must be in a clearly named container.  Please do not send a flavoured drink with the packed lunch as all children are given water to drink at lunch time.

In order to help with the administration and ordering, parents must inform School in writing, giving two full weeks’ notice, if a child is to change their lunchtime arrangements.

Free School Meals

All children who receive free school meals, are not identifiable to their peers or the staff in school.  Any parents with children in Years 3 to 6, who think they may be entitled to free school meals are encouraged to apply online by clicking here.

Booking School Lunches

A menu is sent home towards the end of each term detailing the food options for the following term.  Parents are asked to complete an online form on which they make the meal choices for their children.  Families can can choose a mix of school lunches and packed lunches.
