Our Mission
We aim to:
Provide a secure and caring community in which children can work happily, learning to respect each other, the school and their environment.
Ensure that each child feels valued and has the self-confidence to discover abilities and strengths.
Our children are the citizens of tomorrow. We aim to foster self-discipline and motivation, responsibility and a sense of belonging to a wider community.
Beamsley School is fortunate to belong to a very active and supportive cluster of seven schools in the Upper Wharfedale area. Resources and expertise is shared and many events are organised throughout the year to enable pupils of these small schools to socialise and develop friendships outside their normal school environment. Activities include the Y6 residential trip to York, drama and events, technology days, sports and outdoor pursuits.
Friends of Beamsley School
The school is extremely well supported by parents through the 'Friends' group. Our fund raisers are second to none! Many enjoyable activites are set up for pupils, their families and the wider community throughout the year, raising much-needed cash for our small school. We have been able to purchase science equipment, furniture, books, musical instruments and play equipment-through people's generosity. Parents and friends also subsidise transport for visits, the cost of which would otherwise be prohibitive.

Ofsted - Latest Report
Read our latest Ofsted Report
here are some extracts:
The Boyle and Petyt Primary School is a good school. The commitment, hard work and talents of the headteacher are successful in leading good improvements to the school....
Standards are rising. Parents acknowledge 'the tremendous difference', the 'strong sense of direction' and rising standards. The zeal with which these improvements have been tackled is impressive: boys' writing, standards in mathematics, pupils' behaviour throughout school and the provision for the youngest children are all much improved and a credit to all the hard work by the headteacher, governors and staff, with effective support from the local authority.
